Urban Decay: Prep, Prime, Set

Last year I stopped attending events for a while, because I just had too much on my plate. When I received an invite from Urban Decay to attend their Prep, Prime and Set launch – I decided that it would be the perfect event to get back out there. And with an incredible view of the ocean, delicious snacks and exciting products to test – I definitely made the right choice.

All of the above photos were taken by the talented Tegan Smith Photography.

At this event, Urban Decay introduced to us their new innovative complexion products. Being a Hermoine Granger, I wanted to write a thesis about all the benefits, ingredients, textures, bottle size, font type, weight and density of these products. But I decided to contain myself and rather give you a synopsis of each.

So here you go!

New Packaging

The De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray, All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray, Chill Makeup Spray got a makeover. According to Women’s Wear Daily, brand founder Wende Zomnir wanted to revamp the bottles, because the matte white bottles got dirty very quickly. “The bottle picked up makeup grime, and my fresh pretty white bottle always looked grungy and gross.”

I think we can all agree that this is #totallyrelatable. My vanity table is white, and I’m forever Handy Andy-ing that badboy to get rid of make-up stains.

The beautiful matte black packaging will definitely combat those annoying foundation stains!

Self-Adjusting Complexion Primer

Why it’s awesome: Life is busy, and everyday has a new mix of things to worry about. Sometimes it’s a work crisis, other times it’s the frustration of taking 50 selfies and still not finding one that’s worthy of an Instagram post.

In comes Urban Decay Self-Adjusting Complexion Primer. This colour-correcting formula features encapsulated pigments that actually adjust to your skin tone. How does it work? Micro-encapsulated beads of pigment are suspended in the formula and burst on your skin, adapting to your skin tone as you apply.
