You might remember this awesome invitation I was sent a while ago.
I was blown away by the effort that was put into it – I have all the time in the world for creative people. So of course my RSVP had a big fat “YES!” on it!
So last week I went to Rocco restaurant in the Cape Quarter to celebrate the Maaji Chimeric Wayferer Collection. The first thing I thought when I walked in: “Holy shit, there are models in bikinis in the middle of WINTER. WHY DID I YOLO FOR LUNCH?”
I was just about to panic and run away when I noticed the Foxbox station, where the awesome manicurists of Foxbox were doing signature nails for all the guests – using the gorgeous new range from TOY. For those of you who aren’t aware of the awesomeness that is Foxbox – it’s a mobile mani and pedi station. They’ll come to your house to do your nails! HOW COOL?
After having my signature nail done I met up with the lovely Qaanita, Laiqah and Zahrah who I follow on Instagram and Twitter. It was so great meeting them IRL – if you’re fans of their blogs, believe me when I say that they are just as nice as they seem virtually.
I also met Yumna from Cooked Culture, and Thabiet from On Fashion Street, who are just as obsessed with pop culture as me. We had a ridiculously long discussion about Rihanna, The Kardashians and Chris Brown. It was awesome.
Thabiet filmed this awesome video at the event – check it out!
While we were all chatting up a storm – there were beautiful models walking around sporting equally beautiful bikinis from Columbian lifestyle brand, Maaji. The collection boasts a juicy colour palette with brave accents where spicy orange meets electric yellow and neutral is encompassed with with timeless turquoise, hot pinks and soft purples.
Boasting an exciting range of silhouettes, the collection brings paradise to life through zipped, tasseled and layered bikinis. They also have cute cover-ups and one-pieces!
Here are some of the pieces – please do check their website out for more!
And if you’re wondering where you can get this fabulous collection – here you go!
