The team at Almay sent me their latest lipstick range, Almay Lip Vibes, for this sponsored review.
So let's talk about the name of the range: Lip Vibes. I wonder if it was named by a South African? VIBES, my bru! This collection is absolutely gorgeous though - the packaging takes me back to my balmy holiday in Brazil.
The Almay Lip Vibes range consists of 24 pretty lippies with awesome names such as “Skip The Gym”, “Rise Up”, “Live Happy”, “Love Big”, “Eat Cake” and “Be Strong”. All of these give better advice than me!
You can choose from three unique finishes: Matte, Crème and Toppers. My favourite lipstick in the range is, without any doubt, Eat Cake.
Last Friday night I had the honour of visiting CHEFS in Gardens. When reviewing a restaurant, I always feel that I need to address the pros and cons to keep it real. But I truly didn't have any cons to add to this article, because I loved absolutely everything about it - from the venue, to the aesthetic, to the food.
So what is CHEFS about? CHEFS opened end of last year in Cape Town. You may have driven past it on St Johns Street and seen the team prepping their daily menu. This is the first interesting thing about CHEFS: they have a new menu everyday. Every morning three meal options are set out for the day and loaded onto the CHEFS website www.chefscapetown.co.za.
If you want to see an epic debate, just ask any Capetonian what their favourite street is to party in the CBD. Is Harrington cooler than Long? Kloof trendier than Bree? It depends on who you ask. Personally I’d rather lick an ashtray than go out in Long Street, but that’s because I am actually a 70-year old in a 24-year-old’s body.
Loop Street is filled with some of the coolest businesses in the city (okay, maybe I’m a bit biased because I used to work there). But for some reason, even though it’s wedged between Long and Bree Street, it doesn’t have that many places to jol. That’s why I jumped at the chance to visit 91 Loop. Well, that,...
I had a hard time writing this review, because all I actually wanted to say to over and over again is:
IT IS AN AMAZING PLACE AND YOU MUST GO.
But because HQ is so great, it deserves a proper review. So here we go.
On Friday evening my bestie and I went to HQ for wine and tapas. My previous experiences with tapas have made me really skeptical of portions. I have a ridiculously long body that I need to feed, so a portion the size of a pea just doesn't cut it. So at HQ I requested that they bring two sets of each of the tapas.
The portions were really generous, so I was actually just being a pig asking for...
When the Picodi team first contacted me to find out if I ever do any online shopping, I was like:
But seriously, guys. I wouldn't be sad if I never have to go to a shopping mall again. Three things I despise about malls:
1. People who walk like zombies. Must be nice having ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD.
2. Indecisive people. Seriously, how long does it take to decide between two types of butter.
3. People in general. What? I'm not sorry.
Online shopping is so much more convenient, because you can do it whenever you want, wherever you want. Another amazing aspect is voucher codes. You can get a discount my simply subscribing to a newsletter, or shopping over a certain...
