Breath Of Blue

At the beginning of this year I vowed to go back to doing all the things I love, and one of them is working with fellow creatives to make life more colourful. So I called up two of my favourite people in the industry for a photoshoot, and spoke to up-and-coming designer Janu Steyn about wearing one of his gowns. He gave me the most breathtaking royal blue gown with intricate detail across the chest and a line of buttons down the back. Zel Archer came onboard as photographer, and Cat Terblanche as hair-and-makeup artist. I’ve worked with them a lot in the past and I absolutely love their dynamic. They’re some of the kindest people I know, and together their presence is...

Feeling Fresh

I realised a while ago that a lot of my readers don't know what I do for a living. As open as I am on my blog, I like to keep my worklife private. But I can tell you that I work in the digital industry. Working in this industry means that you are online 24/7, and it's super difficult to plan a holiday/break when you are always accessible. But at the beginning of 2017 I promised myself that I would try. This year is all about taking care of my physical and mental health, and a big part of that is learning when to take some time to myself. And so that's what I did this past week. I went...

City Nights

A while ago J-P and I decided to brainstorm places to go to for our December break. We decided on St Francis Bay, but by the time we made up our minds - there was literally no accommodation left. So, we decided to do something that confused the hell out of our fellow Capetonians: we went to Port Elizabeth for a week. On day one, we hit Bay West Mall which is their Canal Walk. A beautiful new shopping mall, with a plethora of shops - yet I couldn't find one single dress. Eventually J-P sauntered into a shop next to Edgars, and called me to come and look at their sale. I went up to the sale section, and I almost...

Truworths Summer 2016

I am a summer baby, and I have made it abundantly clear in all my blog posts. When Truworths sent me their summer lookbook; I was SO amped to go in store to check it out. I wasn't disappointed. From patterned skirts, gypsy-inspired prints; culotte pants; nauticals; white sneakers and distressed jeans – they've got the fashion scope covered for you this season. I chose the beautiful dress I am wearing in this post within the first 5 minutes of my shopping spree. It was in the doorway, and I fell in love with it immediately. Its material is incredible and it made me feel like a queen when I wore it. I can't tell you enough how nice it was to...

Truworths Winter 2016

Let me tell you a little story about how I deal with winter: I don't. I am ALWAYS cold. Always. It makes it very hard for me to go about my routine, and even harder to look cute when I go out. Truworths recently approached me to view their Winter 2016 catalogue and to go choose some items in store. I was so very pleased to discover that they have a variety of beautiful and WARM coats and cardigans. It was the first thing I noticed when I walked into the store. They have coats in every colour - from grey to bright yellow (in the Ginger Mary section). It was a tough decision, but I opted for a pullover polo-neck jersey,...
