“Anja, how did your hair grow so quickly?” is a question I get asked on social media so frequently. I wish I could tell you that there is some magic solution to hair growth, that I have discovered a tablet or supplement that made my hair grow fast. I know that is what you’d like to hear.
However, it takes a lot of patience, and truthfully there is no exact science. I’ve met women who haven’t been able to grow their hair out past shoulder length, and then I have met people who have standing appointments at the hair salon to prevent looking like they howl at the moon at midnight. It is unfair that the latter usually happens to men...
Between my 9:00 to 17:00, my blog and my personal life - I often struggle to make time for myself. But I am dedicated to finding the balance. To me, self-care is just as important as skincare and I’ve found a beautiful synergy between the two with Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair.
Things I despise:
Waiting for my nails to dry. (More on this later.)
Chipped nail polish.
Having to soak my nails for 26 years to remove glitter nail polish. (And considering amputation.)
So this polish by Morgan Taylor (named Ice Queen Maybe) is right up my alley, because it dries very quickly. And when it chips - it's not very obvious, because the colour blends so well with your natural nail. Moreover, even though it's a shimmery - it doesn't stick to your nail and the polish is so easy to remove.
All of their shades are beautiful though, and they're also available in minis. So cute! Shop them on Zando here.

So I called up two of my favourite people in the industry for a photoshoot, and spoke to up-and-coming designer Janu Steyn about wearing one of his gowns. He gave me the most breathtaking royal blue gown with intricate detail across the chest and a line of buttons down the back.
Zel Archer came onboard as photographer, and Cat Terblanche as hair-and-makeup artist. I’ve worked with them a lot in the past and I absolutely love their dynamic. They’re some of the kindest people I know, and together their presence is...
Last year I stopped attending events for a while, because I just had too much on my plate. When I received an invite from Urban Decay to attend their Prep, Prime and Set launch - I decided that it would be the perfect event to get back out there. And with an incredible view of the ocean, delicious snacks and exciting products to test - I definitely made the right choice.
All of the above photos were taken by the talented Tegan Smith Photography.
At this event, Urban Decay introduced to us their new innovative complexion products. Being a Hermoine Granger, I wanted to write a thesis about all the benefits, ingredients, textures, bottle size, font type, weight and density of these products. But I...
